One Elephant Went Out to Play Felt Story and Song
Use All About Me books, rhymes, songs, and activities to provide your preschool and kindergarten children with opportunities to learn about themselves, their bodies, their emotions and feelings, and to discover everything else that makes them special. We selected some great books that are a great addition to all the different activities during your Amazing Me unit.
Weather is all around us! Fall and spring are great times to talk with your children about the weather and for your children to experience the changes that happen in the weather as it cools down or warms up. In the fall, talk about how the weather is getting cooler and that the leaves are changing color and the animals are preparing for winter.
I is for iguana and itch. Show children a picture of an iguana and let them discribe the animals. Show children the cover of the book and read the title to children. Count the iguanas together. Encourage children to share with you what they think the story is all about. Read the book about the nine little iguanas that are sitting in the hot sun on a small island.
Children love to help bake cookies. In this Twiggle Book children read about the the tools and steps that are needed to make cookies. Lily and Twiggi gather together the materials and ingredients they will need. Then, they mix, roll, cut, bake, and decorate until they have a delicious treat!
Young children will learn that eating healthy foods and exercise keep our bodies healthy and strong. Twiggi, Lily, and their friends are having fun in the sun, but Raccoon stays inside to eat his favorite foods (cake, hamburger, and fries) and doesn’t move from his place while watching TV.
