Here is another cute letter P penguin craft. Children make penguins from the letter P. Post them together on a bulletin board for a P is for Penguin colony.
What you need:
Free Penguin Pattern Piece printable
Cardboard
Black, white, orange, and blue construction paper
Chart paper
Scissors
Glue
What you do:
Cut white constuction paper into strips. Cut one strip per child. Cut black construction paper into backward c shapes, again, one per child.
Trace the Penguin Pattern Pieces onto cardboard and cut out. Trace the beak and webbed foot on orange construction paper, one set per child. Trace the wing and pupil on black construction paper, one set per child. Trace the eye on white construciton paper, one per child. Cut out the penguin pattern pieces.
Draw the letter P on chart paper and discuss its shape. Show children how the letter P is constructed from one vertical line and a curved line that makes a partial circle. Give each child a white strip of paper and a black partial circle. Have them glue the parts to blue sheets of construction paper to make Ps.
Have each child make an eye from a white oval and a black circle and glue it inside the curved line of his/her letter P.
Have each child glue a beak and a wing to their letter P.
Have children complete their P is for Penguin crafts by gluing one webbed foot adjacent to their penguins' wings. Put all the Ps together to make a penguin colony bulletin board!
