The importance of instilling the concept of...
Create an inspiring tree play area where preschool children will love to explore, discover, and create stories and decorate the tree for all seasons.
You will need a narrow wall mirror and some branches with some leaves still attached.
For play materials we provided real leaves, silk leaves, acorns, pom-poms, silk flowers, foam snowflakes, a basket, and some toy animals that live in and around trees (squirrels, birds, hedgehogs).
Place the branch on the mirror and remove branches that hang too far over the mirror. We loved how the mirror reflected the branches and all its leaves. Let children decorate the tree anyway they want. Discuss some of the seasonal changes of a tree.
What time of the year does the tree have flowers? What time of the year would snowflakes fall on the tree? What time of the year does the tree have colorful leaves?
Let children create stories with the animals and the tree or use the basket to pick apples (pom-poms) from the tree.
We would love to see how your tree play area turned out. Send us the pictures and we'll choose some to share.
