Children will love wearing their squid headbands as they listen to Kevin Sherry's story I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean about a boastful, and then bashful, squid.
What you need:
Blue craft paper
White, black, and pink craft paper
Cheerios cereal
Scissors
Stapler
Glue
What you do:
Cut two long strips out of blue craft paper. Staple together to make one long strip.
Cut out a half oval from blue craft paper and glue to the middle of the strip.
For the squid's arms, cut out eight strips and glue to the back of the headband. Glue Cheerios to the front. Let dry.
For the tentacles, cut two long strips and two oval shapes out of blue craft paper. Glue the clubs (ovals) to the ends. Let dry.
Glue the tentacles to the back of the headband.
Add eyes and a mouth to the head.
Fit around head and staple ends together. Wear while you read the story I'm The Biggest Thing in the Ocean!
