The importance of instilling the concept of...
What better way for your children to demonstrate their love to friends and family members on Valentine's Day than with this handmade heart and poem. Children could also make the hearts in other colors to create a colorful Valentine's Day bulletin board or mobiles to hang from the ceiling.

I made this little heart
Especially for you!
Make this easy heart craft with your children and tape the heart poem to the back. This would make a cute Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, or Grandparent's Day present.
What you need:
Cardboard or empty cereal box
Black marker
White glue
Small container for glue mixture
White tissue paper
Paint (red and blue)
Containers for paint
Brush
Ribbon
Glitter (optional)
Preparation:
Draw a heart shape on to a piece of cardboard or on a panel of an empty cereal box. Cut out shape. In a container, mix one part glue and six parts water. Tear panels of the tissue paper. Put the red and blue paint in separate containers. (Note: If paint is a thick consistency, dilute it with water.)
Instructions:
1. Have children paint the heart shape with red paint. Let dry.
2. Place tissue paper inside the container with the glue/water mixture and let paper soak up the mixture.
3. Take out the paper and lightly squeeze out the water/glue mixture. Let children tear the paper in to pieces and place on the heart shape.
4. Let children drip or dip the paintbrushes with paint on the wet tissue paper. The paper will bleed the colors together.
5. Sprinkle some glitter on the hearts if desired. Let dry overnight.
6. When dry, use scissors to drill a hole to the top of the heart. Attach a ribbon.
