Preschool children will love to turn the letter P into Pete the Cat with this easy letter P craft.
Skills: Letter P letter recognition and beginning sound
What you need:
Letter P for Pete printables (KidsSoup Resource Library)
White craft paper
Blue craft paper
Yellow craft paper
Red craft paper
Black craft paper
Black marker
Scissors
Glue
What you do:
Print letter P for Pete printables. Trace on to craft paper and cut out. Hand out a set to each child.
Look at the letter P together with children and discuss its shape. Next, have children form the letter P with the letter cut-outs on a piece of white paper.
Then have children glue the letter P on the white paper. Ask children which shapes are Pete's ears (triangles) and glue them at the top of the letter P. Let children find the arm shape and glue to the letter.
Next, glue the eyes, nose, and shoe on the letter P.
Add two little blue triangles for the pupils and use a black marker to draw the mouth, the whiskers and to decorate the shoes. Let them write or copy the name Pete on their artwork.
